Paul Van Dyk Releases Title Track off Forthcoming Album Guiding Light

Legendary trance producer/DJ Paul van Dyk was set to have a big 2020, including the release of his ninth studio album, Guiding Light. Then COVID-19 hit and everything changed…but, that hasn’t stopped the German veteran from being one of the most active artists during quarantine. Now, PvD has announced that Guiding Light will finally see the light of day next month. He also released a new single off the album which just happens to be the title track.

Guiding Light got postponed from it’s April release because Paul didn’t think the time was right, but to give his fans something he released an orchestral album, Escape Reality, and he’s continued to live stream hours-long sets every Sunday. PvD’s output is insane. “Guiding Light” is your typical PvD fare, uplifting progressive trance with an emotional female vocal, Sue McLaren. It’s got beautiful synths, nice pads, and it’s just a jolt of good vibes to the system. Here’s what Paul had to say about the upcoming release of Guiding Light.

“The circumstances in which we danced so far this year have been different, but crucially we never stopped dancing. ‘Guiding Light’’s message was always about showing us a way through and I don’t believe there’ll ever be a greater need for that than now. The album’s singles have shown their power to spiritually uplift – as much off the floors as on, so it’s time to let the rest of its music do the same.”
