Nicky Romero cannot be stopped in 2020! He’s put out six original tracks this year, dropped a club EP and unveiled a new side project, too! Now, we’re treated to the Dutch superstar’s seventh original track of the year, “Only for You.” Teaming up with Sick Individuals and Australian vocalist XIRA; Nick makes a glorious return to that festival progressive house sound that he’s honed over the past couple of years. Sick Individuals also brilliantly incorporate their own unique style for one of those collabs that’s almost a perfect 50-50 blend.
“Only for You” opens up with a beautiful piano melody, XIRA’s sweet and soaring vocals come right in as some light percussion gives the song some urgency. Most EDM fans will probably recognize XIRA from 3LAU’s hit song “Tokyo.” She doesn’t have to sing much, but you definitely feel her vocals. After that we get the drum build up and the glorious progressive drop. This one would have been a nice touch at the festival main stage.
