After years of asking, Sullivan King has finally dropped an Avenged Sevenfold remix

It’s been literal years of fans asking Sullivan King to put out an Avenged Sevenfold remix, and the day has finally come.

If you’re a fan of Sully, you know that Avenged Sevenfold is one of, if not his absolute favorite band and he talks about them constantly. (I mean, have you listened toCity of Evil??) Now, we finally get to hear his take on the album’s opening track, “Beast and the Harlot.â€

Without a doubt, City of Evil is one of those rare, front-to-back perfect albums, and “Beast and the Harlot†is a huge part of setting up the theme and tone of the album going forward. Massive, suspenseful organ notes paired with a scream in the back, a slow, meticulous drum beat, a gutteral guitar riff, all moving into a blistering intro before the vocals, it is a masterpiece in album openings. And as soon as you hear M. Shadows’ unmistakable, powerful scream, you know shit’s about to get real.

For his take on this almost inimitable track, Sullivan King retracked all the guitar, and of course made the wubs, while leaving Shadows’ impeccable vocals right where they’re meant to be. While on a personal level I’m a bit disappointed none of the original melody made it into the drop, it can’t be argued that Avenged Sevenfold themselves would be proud of just how hard this goes.

True to Sullivan’s style, his remix is pure headbang material, inspired by one of his all-time favorite bands, so you know this was made with a meticulous attention to detail and a heavy helping of love. Check it out below!
